Cannons Hartford Concert reviews
Queensryche is superior Live!
"What a Show!" was the first thing that came to mind when I saw it. The performance, the stage presence, the theatrics - all fantastic. Jeff Tate's style, professionalism, moves, voice, guns, and gestures were all fantastic. This was the best show I've ever seen in terms of concerts. No kidding! The two guitarists were amazing. The older one (Michael Wilton) could shred like no other. He may not have been flashy, but he definitely got the job done. He was in his element, mastering the six-string wonder with intricate scales, modes, and riffs. Then there's the younger one, Parker Lundgren. He looked to be in his mid-20s, nailing the poses and showmanship as he raced around the stage playing alongside Michael Wilton. Wearing his guitar low like Jimmy Page, he thrashed out rhythms with style, and his harmony solos were perfectly in sync with Michael Wilton's. Perfectly clean, so great. The bassist was a powerhouse, keeping the band tight. His harmonies with Parker were tear-inducing. So pitch-perfect that even Simon Cowell and voice teachers would be proud. The drummer was exceptional, maybe even more intricate than Neil Pert. Oh man! I can't wait to see them when they come back to town. I'm still blown away, with "Jet City Woman" stuck in my head. Jeff's respect for our troops and dedication to his dad who served in Korea was unmatched. Rock's best bands played in Monroe, Washington, last night, hailing from Bellevue. What a night! What a group of players! Together for 30 years, I hope they keep going strong.
